A New Facility – a Home of Our Own
STAR Foundation now has its own facility on 2+ acres in Middle Island, NY. We can house our permanent residents, do wildlife rehabilitation, have meetings and training classes and more. More volunteers can be brought in, and will need to be in order to make this work.
We Need Help… and Donations
We have a four-bedroom house that needs to be cleaned up and made suitable before any actual rescue functions can move in. Please donate cleaning supplies, and elbow grease! If you can come in and offer cleaning and fix-up help, contact us ASAP – and the property is in need of major clean-up! Anyone interested in helping with yard work should contact Candy Sue at

The property is going to take months to trim, prune and weed it back into shape.
Donations of vinyl flooring are neede to replace the carpet that has to be ripped out. Please wrack your brains and reach out to anyone that might have connections with a flooring supplier who might donate materials.
We have to start the demo and restoration of the facility. We need contractors, electricians, tile and flooring experts. We need lots of people power to have it up and running in time for training and baby season in the spring. If you can donate building materials, sheetrock, flooring, bathroom fixtures, tile, etc., we have a storage trailer to keep them safe until we are ready to work on that part of the project.
Barn Raising
Our plan is to get a nice big barn up before next spring’s baby wildlife starts pouring in. This is going to require lots of fundraising! We will need lots of building materials and construction help – make your pledges now! If you can help with the planning or building of the barn, contact John at
